The Story of Laytons
1992
Qualification
Managing partner Robert Layton qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1992 having done his articles with Deloitte Haskins & Sells (now Price Cooper Waterhouse) after graduating from Cardiff University in 1986.
1994
Launch!
Robert launched the practice from his home in Harpur Hill, Buxton in 1994 as Layton & Co.
1997
First offices, new logo..
The practice moved to it’s first offices in 1997 near Rock Bay Garages in Burbage.
2000
Rebranding..
In 1999 the company rebranded as Layton Associates as it’s reputation for first class service grew.
2001
Partnership and Movement to todays offices..
Robert formed a partnership with Dave Lee to form LaytonLee, which practiced for 15 years.
The practice moved to it’s offices on Manchester Road, which it still operates in today.
2014
A new era..
After nearly 15 successful years in business as LaytonLee, Rob and Dave parted company to pursue independent ventures.
Rob and his wife, Joanna, became business partners to form Laytons.
2022
Continued Growth!
Today, Laytons is still growing and developing. With Rob’s son Jamie now operating as Partner, the business is looking to the future and modernising it’s approach to allow it to continue to offer the best possible service.
For nearly 30 years, Laytons has grown an enviable reputation within the High Peak as a practice fully committed to its clients.
Laytons is a fully registered ICAEW general practice currently employing eleven members of staff with a range of specialist skills including Accounts, Corporation Tax, VAT, Personal Tax, Payroll services and Business advice.
